Paprika is a fine powder ground from certain varieties of capsicum family. Don’t confuse it with red chilli powder, Paprika is a milder or sweeter form of chilli family. It can’t be used as a full substitute for red chilli powder. However, it gives mouthwatering colour to the dishes.
It can be used in flour dusting for chicken and other meats. In India, it is mostly used in dishes to give the characteristic red colour.
